Consumer Advice and Recommendations
First I would like to draw attention to the two best carriers I have found for the average Texas Resident. The first one is Packet8. While these guys struggled with some customer service issues last year the commitment they have made to improve it is amazing. While SBC continues to get worse and worse and my land line continues to drop Metro Dialing (which I pay 20 dollars extra for) and customer service claims is not occurring my Packet8 Line goes on with never a problem.
The next carrier many of my fellow Texans are finding useful is MyPhoneCompany Broadband Phone specifically those in more rural markets that find it hard to find a number that is in their local area for inbound calls. Folks I know in

Lastly I found a great listing of VoIP Broadband Phone Articles – Lots of great info from some good industry insiders and unlike most they are focused on the consumer level events. Now who got the next big microchip deal or who is going to make a billion dollars. Nope useful info like who should choose Vonage and who should Not (most people). I'd bet they didn't have this when you were in college. Or if you are a college student, I'm almost positive this hasn't come to your campus yet.
